Internet recommendation engines analyze a users past decisions to inform them of further decisions to consider. It mimics human behavior in a way, but sometimes even goes beyond. Take for example a recommendation made by Pandora radio that I “Listen to Hyphy Radio and Keak Da Sneak radio in shuffle mode.”

For some reason this proposition, placed so simply and soberly on the page is laughable. Through aesthetic, design, and structure It’s proposing that listen to hyphy music in a completely sane and logical way. What if a recommendation engine could pick up on the taste and traits of contrarians? What if some users tend to like things not all similar, but equally different?
